The Hellenic Riding Club (EIO) is the oldest equestrian sports club in Greece (founded in 1931), with the aim of promoting the sport and fostering the spirit of horsemanship. t is a founding member of the Hellenic Equestrian Federation (EOI). Since 1951, it has maintained its own facilities in Paradeisos, Marousi, where 50 horses are housed.
It is the place where the majority of today’s equestrian athletes and officials began their riding careers, and it has always maintained a strong social presence.
The Hellenic Riding Club is one of the leading equestrian sports clubs in terms of activity.
Its achievements include:
- 4 Hellenic Equestrian Federation Club Championships (2011, 2014, 2019, 2020)
- 13 Show Jumping Cups “Sp. & M. Mpenas” (1978, 1979, 1980, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007)
- 4 Show Jumping Cups “A. Athanasiadis” (1999, 2003, 2005, 2006)
- 3 Northern Attica Development Trophies (1997, 2000, 2010)
- 2 Hellenic Equestrian Federation Club Dressage Championships (2022, 2025)
- 3 “Xenophon” Dressage Cups (2012, 2013, 2017)
The Hellenic Riding Club is represented by athletes in the National Equestrian Teams. Its members include Greek Olympian Heidi Antikatzidi, as well as athletes with major successes in Greece and abroad, such as Emmanouela Athanasiadi, along with other Balkan champions and national champions.
