At the Hellenic Riding Club, therapeutic riding and hippotherapy programs are offered using the horses of its Riding Academy.
The benefits of therapeutic riding are multifaceted and suitable for various conditions, such as autism, pervasive developmental disorder, intellectual disability, cerebral palsy in its various forms, hypotonia, psychomotor immaturity, and others.
In the field of Therapeutic Riding, the Hellenic Riding Club collaborates with the non-profit organization “Therapeutic Riding Association of Greece,”, whose Scientific Director is Eirini Kapari.
The Therapeutic Riding Association of Greece is a member of the Horses in Education and Therapy International (HETI) and works closely with an American organization, Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PACTH), through which its instructors have mainly received their advanced training. The association has been active in the field of rehabilitation in Athens for the past 9 years.
The sessions take place both in an outdoor arena and in an indoor covered arena, depending on weather conditions.
To promote the method and inform interested parties, the Hellenic Riding Club organizes scientific and informational seminars for institutions, groups, and associations.
