Riding Academy
The Hellenic Riding Club operates a Riding Academy, whose aim is to cultivate horsemanship and promote interaction with the horse. The Riding Academy provides lessons for children and adults interested in engaging in horse riding at either a recreational or competitive level.
Horse riding Lessons
- are conducted under the supervision of the Head of the Riding Academy and the designated instructor
- take place with Club horses from Tuesday to Sunday, at pre-arranged times following consultation with the instructors
- include riding, as well as instruction in horse care, grooming, hygiene, and tack handling, along with theoretical training on topics related to horses and equestrian sports.
Adults and children over the age of 8 can attend the Riding Academy lessons, each lasting one hour. Depending on the progress demonstrated by the Riding Academy students and if they wish, they may participate in examinations organized by the Hellenic Equestrian Federation to obtain a Rider’s Licence.
As part of enriching their equestrian knowledge and experience, students take part in various Club activities, such as demonstrations and equestrian games organized by the Club.
Enrollment Requirements
Applicants must submit to the Secretariat of the EIO a completed application form with their personal details, along with a recent medical certificate confirming their ability to participate in sports activities.
For the first lessons, the Club provides the necessary riding helmet.
In addition, the Riding Academy develops educational programs, organizes conferences, forums, seminars, and equestrian exhibitions, supervises the Club’s publications, and maintains an archive of its activities. Finally, the Riding Academy offers students in higher and technical education fields related to equestrian studies the opportunity for practical training, in coordination with the Club’s management.
